Six years post–”A Single Man,” Tom Ford is ready to return with his second film. “Nocturnal Animals” was likewise adapted from a novel, this time with Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead. Entertainment Weekly has premiered the first three images of the world-famous fashion designer-turned filmmaker’s new movie.

“Nocturnal Animals” is based on Austin Wright’s “Tony and Susan,” first published in 1993. It takes its title from that of a manuscript its lead character (Adams) receives in the mail from her estranged ex-husband. Gyllenhaal will play the lead of the story-within-a-story, with Isla Fisher as his wife, Ellie Bamber as their daughter, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the leader of a gang Gyllenhaal encounters on the road and Michael Shannon as a detective.
