Sundance 2013: Amanda Seyfried’s ‘Lovelace’ Acquired by RADiUS-TWC
Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman’s “Lovelace” has found a home with expected speed, as RADiUS-TWC purchased U.S. rights to the fact-based drama late Tuesday night. The company, which also acquired “Twenty Feet From Stardom” and “Concussion” out of the Sundance Film Festival program this week, plans a fall release.
Amanda Seyfried, Peter Sarsgaard, Hank Azaria, Wes Bentley, Adam Brody, Bobby Cannavale, James Franco, Debi Mazar, Chris Noth, Robert Patrick, Eric Roberts, Sharon Stone, Chloe Sevigny and Juno Temple star in the story of Linda Lovelace, who became a global sensation when she helped make porn suddenly chic with the 1972 film “Deep Throat.” Andy Bellin wrote the screenplay, which was written with the cooperation of the estate of Linda Lovelace.
“‘Lovelace’ delivers on every level — the story coupled with top-notch performances makes for a highly compelling and sophisticated look into a cultural phenomenon,” said RADiUS co-presidents Tom Quinn and Jason Janego. “We are over the moon to have the film on our 2013 slate.”
Millennium / Nu Image, which produced the film, repped the sale for the filmmakers.
