“What If,” starring Daniel Radcliffe, Zoe Kazan and Adam Driver is being cited as proof that the romantic comedy now belongs to independent film. For if studios won’t make the next “Annie Hall,” it makes sense that rom-com aficionados turn to the independent world, where the movies are actually turning out better than the previous decade’s onslaught of pre-packaged rom-coms.

In this exclusive video interview with Indiewire, Radcliffe and Kazan talk about how the rom-com has taken a turn, and should no longer be maligned as bad cinema. As Radcliffe says, “If I like something I don’t think of it as being a great romantic comedy. I think of it as how ‘When Harry Met Sally’ is a great film.”

Check out the video below. “What If” opens in limited release today.
