Edgar Wright Directs Beck’s ‘Colors’ Music Video, and It’s An Eye-Popping Musical on Acid — Watch
Despite all of his filmmaking successes, director Edgar Wright has never abandoned his love for making music videos, from sharing some of his very early projects on his own blog to continuing to direct new ones for a wide variety of talents (Sky Ferreira to Pharrell, and those are just recent credits). For his latest music video, the “Shaun of the Dead” and “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” filmmaker has joined forces with another big name: Beck.
The video for Beck’s song “Colors” has debuted exclusively on Apple Music (click here to watch). While this music video marks the pair’s first formal team-up on film, Wright has previously placed two Beck songs on his movie soundtracks (most recently on “Baby Driver,” where Beck’s “Debra” played a key sonic role). It’s a match made in cinematic heaven.

The pair clearly enjoy working together — when “Baby Driver”was announced as the winner of Best Film at the NME Awards 2018 in February, he accepted via video message, with Beck lurking in the background. Based on the very colorful set the duo were inhabiting at the time, it seems they were smack-dab in the middle of “Colors” production when the honor was announced.
