Charlie Chaplin Shorts and ‘How To Train Your Dragon 2’ Playing Inaugural Hamptons Summer Family Film Festival

The Hamptons International Film Festival has announced the first edition of its Summer Family Film Festival in association with the Southampton Arts Center. The three day event, taking place August 22-24,  will open with a selection of Charlie Chaplin film shorts and will close with a 3D screening of DreamWorks Animation’s acclaimed summer sequel, “How To Train Your Dragon 2.”

“We’ve been educating students about filmmaking for over seven years and are happy to expand that effort along with our stellar children’s programming to Southampton, ” said Executive Director Anne Chaisson. “We look forward to showcasing our exciting line-up of screenings from everyone’s favorite, The Tramp to haunted houses, Disney’s finest and an all girl punk band that will inspire the filmmakers of tomorrow.”

The opening night compilation of Charlie Chaplin shorts will include classics such as “The Rink,” “The Pawnshop” and “The Adventurer.” Other features screening at the festival are Oscar-nominated animated film “Ernest & Celestine”  and Disneynature’s “Bears.”
