7 More Cinematographers You Should Follow on Instagram

Last year we wrote about 9 cinematographers you should follow on Instagram and you should definitely check them out. But why limit ourselves to just nine? So below we highlight seven more cinematographers who are worth following on Instagram. In addition to on-set shots, you’ll find family portraits, travel tableaux and more. The cinematographers are listed below in alphabetical order, along with some of our favorite images from their Instagram accounts.

Benoit Delhomme: The French cinematographer known for his dazzling photography on the Academy Award-winning “The Theory of Everything,” “A Most Wanted Man” and “The Scent of Green Papaya” shares his paintings as well as an outsider’s view of American life.

Andrew Dunn: From “Precious” and “Lee Daniels’ The Butler” to “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” and more recently, “Effie Gray,” British cinematographer Andrew Dunn has displayed a wide range of styles and cinematic techniques. In his Instagram feed, Dunn reveals his love of film and family and provides an insider’s look into the off-hours life of a world-class cinematographer.

Rob Hardy: From Atlanta, Georgia to Cyprus to Scotland and beyond, the “Ex Machina” DP takes us on a tour of the world – seen through a hazy, hypnotic prism. Special bonus: on-set photos from “Ex Machina.”

Rachel Morrison: She’s worked on some of the hottest indies of the past few years including “Fruitvale Station,” “Cake” and most recently, “What Happened, Miss Simone?” and “Dope.” Morrison’s Instagram feed is filled with photos of her newborn, but don’t expect your typical baby pics. You’ll also see photos from scouting outings for new projects. It’s an inspiring peek into the life of a working cinematographer.

Wally Pfister: From “Memento” to “Laurel Canyon” and big-budget fare such as “The Prestige,” “Inception” and “The Dark Knight Rises,” Wally Pfister has earned his place in the pantheon of contemporary cinematographers. His Instagram feed alternates between thoughtful family shots and evocative slices of every day life.

Ben Smithard: Best known for “Alan Partridge,” “Belle” and “The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” Smithard captures every day objects and scenes with a fresh perspective and a keen eye. Be sure to check out his Indian street photography.

Eric Steelberg: Steelberg quotes Thoreau in his Instagram bio, writing “It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.” Clearly, Steelberg, best known for his collaborations with Jason Reitman on films such as “Juno,” “Up in the Air,” “Young Adult,” “Labor Day” and “Men, Women & Children,”  knows where to look. His B&W and color photos on and off-set gives us a glimpse of what it’s like to see the world through a cinematographer’s lens.
