This fall, the beloved and quirky Bridget Jones returns after a 12-year hiatus in “Bridget Jones’s Baby.”

In the latest trailer for the third film of the beloved comedy series based on Helen Fielding’s heroine, the forty-something singleton has just broken up with Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) and is ready to focus on her career as a news producer. Thinking she has everything under control, her life takes a turn when she meets a handsome American named Jack (Patrick Dempsey) who sweeps her off her feet. But after an unexpected night with Darcy, she ends up with a new dilemma. She’s pregnant and has no idea who the father could possibly be.

The rom-com is directed by Sharon Maguire. The film also features Emma Thompson as Jones’ doctor, who find the whole situation rather amusing. Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title Films produce alongside Debra Hayward.

“Bridget Jones’s Baby” arrives in theaters on September 16.
