The Made in NY Media Center has just announced the beneficiaries of its first-ever Made in NY Fellowship and Entrepreneur Innovation Grants. The program is funded by the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment and is set up to support projects across different disciplines that show innovation and creativity in the worlds of media and technology.

Grant recipients were given funding for their projects, while fellowship recipients will participate in 12 months of incubator membership at the Made in NY Media Center, along with mentorship, classes and networking through IFP. The beneficiaries are listed below.:

Made in NY Entrepreneur Innovation Grants:

Cannabis Wire (Alyson Martin, Nushin Rashidian)
Cannabis Wire provides comprehensive and non-partisan reporting on legislation and policies on the issue of marijuana across the country. The platform serves as an unbiased source of information, statistics and reporting for the media, researchers, academia and others.
“Corrupting the Earth” (Jessica Van Garsse, Amy Benziger and Gissou Nia)
A groundbreaking documentary project about political powerplay and the innocent people caught in the crossfire. 
Emerging Market Views (Dawn Kissi)
Emerging Market Views is a video-driven editorial and opinion platform delivering reportage on the world’s emerging and frontier markets with a target audience/demographic of the global financial services community. 
Evolving Technologies Corporation (Loren Abdulezer)
Real-time editing software for virtual reality content.
“How To Make It In:______” (Co-Lab Productions Inc., Marcus Lehmann, Justine Simonson)
A film series exploring the personal stories and professional struggles of Millennial and Gen-X small business owners in New York and around the world.
Ink Stories (1979 Revolution, Vassiliki Khonsari, Navid Khonsari)
1979 Revolution is an episodic action/adventure game designed to engage players with an immersive “on the ground” experience of the Iranian Revolution
Little Starship Productions (Krishna Ramnath, Jennifer Dumlao)

Codex Press (Tim Farnan)
Platform assisting journalists and filmmakers with content creation through a combination of tools for writing, video, audio, fullscreen images and animations.
