Watch: Why Shooting ‘Tangerine’ on an iPhone Made Perfect Sense
It might sound like a gimmick, but shooting on an iPhone proved to be beneficial to “Tangerine,” which wowed earlier this year when it premiered in the NEXT section at Sundance.
This clip from the CreativeLive class, Mobile Filmmaking with IK Multimedia and FiLMiC Pro features special guest filmmakers Sean Baker, who wrote, directed, produced and shot “Tangerine” (along with co-DP Radium Cheung) and Chris Bergoch, the film’s co-writer and co-producer. The filmmakers talk about how they used iPhones and FiLMiC Pro to make the comic drama about transgender prostitutes. Following Sundance, the film was acquired by Magnolia Pictures and will be released theatrically next month.
