Get Ready Bill Murray Day with the First Clip from 'St. Vincent'

We’re hopeful that Bill Murray might finally bring home an Oscar for his performance as a curmudgeonly babysitter in “St. Vincent,” which is set to premiere tomorrow at the Toronto International Film Festival as part of what the fest is billing as “Bill Murray Day.”

In Theodore Melfi’s feature directorial debut based on his own script, Murray stars as the titular Vincent, a drunken, gambling retiree who gets asked by his single-mom neighbor (Melissa McCarthy) to watch her 12-year-old son (newcomer Jaeden Lieberher). Over the course of their time together, the odd couple teach each other life lessons. In this clip, Murray teaches the boy to get paid for a day’s work — in order to drink.

The Weinstein Company plans to release the film in theaters national on October 24, 2014.
