Kaleidoscope Film Distribution (KFD) has acquired worldwide sales for Tiller Russell’s documentary, “The Seven Five.” Described as the “cop version of ‘Goodfellas,'” the film tells the story of Michael Dowd, widely considered to be one of New York City’s dirtiest cops.

According to the film’s official synopsis, “Down led a one man rampage through the streets of East New York, robbing drug dealers, stealing drugs and hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash in the late 80s and early 90s. His eventual arrest in 1992 led to the biggest corruption scandal in New York City History.”

“‘The Seven Five’ is one of the best documentaries of the year and is sure to be a big hit around the world,” said Spencer Pollard, CEO of KFD. “We are delighted to add the film to our ever increasing line up of theatrically driven feature documentaries that appeal to many audiences globally.”

The film was previously acquired for U.S. distribution by Sundance Selects. The deal for worldwide sales was signed by Eli Holzman from All3Media and Pollard.
