Civil War: What Would Happen If TV's Toughest Characters Threw Down?

Batman v. Superman. Captain America v. Iron Man. Civil wars are running rampant in entertainment. Though some may find the idea of two heroes (or more) going at it objectionable — frightening even — the trendy topic got the Indiewire TV Team thinking about their favorite characters facing off. What would happen if two people who traditionally loved each other (or at least played for the same team, so to speak) turned against one another and had to have it out?

In this week’s Very Good TV Podcast, TV Editor Liz Shannon Miller and TV Critic Ben Travers picked their most intriguing matchups and put them up for debate. Who would win in a fight: Kevin or Nora on “The Leftovers”? Elizabeth or Phillip on “The Americans”? A full-blown battle royale among “The People v. O.J. Simpson”? In the podcast below, each member of the team lays out their choice and why, but you can vote for yourself below. Please be their tiebreaker. They so desperately need one.
