Alan Rickman’s Period Romance ‘A Little Chaos’ Picked Up by Focus

Focus Features has picked up the U.S. rights for Alan Rickman‘s star-studded romantic drama “A Little Chaos,” which closed out the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month.
Kate Winslet stars as the widowed Sabine De Barra, whose special talent in landscape design lands her a job working on the gardens of Versailles with King Louis XIV’s landscape architect, André Le Nótre. Matthias Schoenaerts co-stars as Le Nótre, while Alan Rickman, Stanley Tucci and Danny Webb round out the rest of the main cast.
Rickman, as you might have guessed by the picture at the top of the story, not only reigns behind the camera, but also in front of it, appearing in the rather fitting role of Louis the Great.

Lionsgate UK is handling the UK release, which is slated for February 6, 2015. Focus will follow a month later with the U.S. release on March 27.
