In June, the IFP announced the launch of a a new initiative to host weeklong theatrical screenings at the Made in NY Media Center by IFP. Today IFP shared more details about the new theatrical platform.

To kick off, “Screen Forward” will give five independent projects a weeklong run at the Made in NY Media Center’s state-of-the-art theater. Joana Vicente, Executive Director of IFP and the Made in NY Media Center, described the program in a press release as, “a natural outgrowth of our mission to foster and celebrate the work of emerging artists.”

The program kicks off October 17 with Onur Tukel‘s “Summer of Blood.” The rest of the slate includes Josephine Deckers’ “Butter on the Latch,” and “Thou Wast Mild and Lovely,” Madeleine Olnek‘s “The Foxy Merkins,” and Paul Harrill’s “Something, Anything.”

Tickets will go on sale in October at www.nymediacenter.com, where filmmakers will also be able to submit their projects for consideration for the spring slate.
