Many have wrongfully forgotten that the action star who trained Batman and Darth Vader once acted his way to an Oscar nomination as Oskar Schindler, and he looks to display some of that conflicted passion again in the upcoming ensemble film “Third Person.” Neeson plays an author who is not as successful at crafting his own love life as he is at his stories. In this clip, he discusses the book he’s working on with a beautiful companion played by Olivia Wilde. Wilde’s character forces him to consider every writer’s least favorite question: “What’s it about?”

In addition to Neeson and Wilde, the ensemble cast includes Mila Kunis, James Franco, Adrien Brody and Kim Basinger. “Third Person” laces the threads of each of these characters together in a unique manner, almost as if they make up a thematically related anthology that covers New York, Paris and Rome. The film was written and directed by Paul Haggis, the brains behind 2005 Best Picture winner “Crash,” which also featured broad themes and an ensemble cast.

Sony Pictures Classics is set to release “Third Person” On June 20.
