Watch: ‘Devious Maids’ Edy Ganem Lives a Telenovela in ‘Ana Maria in Novela Land’ Trailer

The Telemundo-owned Fluency Studios has released a trailer in anticipation of the limited theatrical release of the comedy “Ana Maria in Novela Land,” which stars “Devious Maids” star Edy Ganem in a dual role and the late Elizabeth Peña in her final role onscreen.

Ganem plays Ana Maria, a young woman who gets caught up in a “Freaky Friday” meets “The Prince and the Pauper” situation after aimlessly wishing for a life that resembles the telenovelas she loves to watch. Ana Maria’s wish inadvertently causes her to switch bodies with her favorite telenovela star, Ariana Tomosa.

In the trailer, which you can watch in its entirety below, both women react very differently to the forced change — with Ana Maria having the time of her life and Ariana spending most of her time in denial.

“Ana Maria in Novela Land” opens in select theaters February 27, 2015.
