Mockumentary Film 'Internet Famous' About Grandiose Online Personalities Premieres This June On iTunes

In case you were ever in doubt of director Christopher Guest‘s permanent imprint on the culture with his influential mockumentaries like “Best In Show” and “A Mighty Wind,” look no further than Michael Gallagher’s “Internet Famous.” A mockumentary about five fictional Internet personalities as they travel across the country to compete in a talent competition, “Internet Famous” stars a whole host of talented actors, from young web sensations like Shane Dawson, Steve Greene, Richard Ryan, Amanda Cerny and Christian Delgrosso, to established actors like John Michael Higgins (“The Late Shift”), Missi Pyle (“Gone Girl”), Roger Bart (“Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay”), and Kevin Hernandez (“Short Term 12”). Other actors include Adam Busch (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”), Wendy McColm (“Mr. Right”), Tony Cavalero (“School of Rock”). Check out the poster above.

“Internet Famous” is the first feature film produced by Maker Studios, the global leader in online short-form content and currently a subsidiary of Disney, and Off The Dock, Lakeshore Entertainment’s digital studio. Director Michael Gallagher previously founded “Total Sketch” in 2009, a weekly online comedy series featuring a rotating cast of Internet celebrities and comedians. In 2012, he directed, co-wrote, and produced his first feature “Smiley,” a low-budget horror film. He co-wrote “Internet Famous” with Steve Greene.

“Internet Famous” will be available to download on iTunes on June 21st.
