‘Shannon Hoon Film’ Features Personal Footage Shot by the Blind Melon Frontman

Tweetable Logline: Shannon Hoon, lead singer of the band Blind Melon, takes us back to the 90s for the ride of his life, 20 years after his death.
Elevator Pitch: Shannon Hoon left behind over 200 hours of footage from his personal camera. We’re collaborating with him 20 years after his death to finish the story he wanted to tell. Hoon filmed his life relentlessly, taking his camera with him everywhere he went. He began filming before Blind Melon met in 1990, up until he died of an accidental overdose in 1995. We experience the entire journey of Blind Melon, from anonymous L.A. transplants to 90’s rock icons. Along the way, Hoon also documented his family life, creative process, his tumultuous struggle with addiction and his hope for the future.

About the film: Danny really “cut his teeth” with Blind Melon professionally as he documented what they were doing in the early 90s, but on a personal level, the guys really let him in and they developed a friendship. Because of that, this film is close to Danny’s heart. He’s honored that Shannon’s family and the band have trusted him with this private footage. Shannon was magnetic; a true artist. We’re all excited for the world to see that. As a team, we’re all fans of Shannon and Blind Melon, and we’re honored to be a part of helping Shannon tell his story.
