The Powerpuff Girls
"The Powerpuff Girls"
Warner Bros. Television Distribution

In 1998, animator Craig McCracken debuted an animated series on Cartoon Network about three girls — Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup — with superpowers and their brainy scientist father who live in the fictional city of Townsville, USA. “The Powerpuff Girls” was a critical and commercial success, lasting six seasons and concluding in 2005.

Now, 10 years later, Cartoon Network has rebooted “The Powerpuff Girls” with all-new producers and an all-new voice cast. The series premiered this past April and concluded its first season in June. Now, watch an exclusive clip from an upcoming episode of “The Powerpuff Girls” entitled “The Big Sleep” that debuted at their Comic-Con panel. In the clip, Buttercup attempts to fight a malicious pillow, but something goes terribly wrong.

The series stars Amanda Leighton, best known for her role as Emma on “The Fosters,” as Blossom; Kristen Li, who provided additional voices to Pixar’s “Monsters University,” as Buttercup; and Natalie Palamides as Buttercup. Tom Kenny (“Mr. Show,” “Spongebob Squarepants”) reprises his roles as The Mayor and the narrator, while Tom Kane reprises his roles as Professor Utonium, the girls’ father, and Him, one of the chief villains in the series. Plus, Roger L. Jackson reprises as Mojo Jojo and Jennifer Hale reprises as Ms. Keane.

The rebooted “Powerpuff Girls” has been renewed for a second season.
