Watch: How Give Sham Religious Sermon Exclusive 'Believe Me' Clip

In writer-director Will Bakke’s debut narrative feature, “Believe Me,” four college seniors start a sham charity in order to pay off surprise law school tuition bills. But instead of just taking to the streets and asking for money, the group capitalizes on the gullible church crowd by posing as religious preachers and campaigning across the country for donations.

If the exclusive clip below is any indication, the film’s twisted plot will give way to a hilariously clever satire of religion and religious institutions. Featuring star Alex Russell (“Chronicle”), the exclusive clip shows the core group being taught how to successfully fake a religious sermon, complete with key words to say, metaphors to use and other humorous tips such as the use of dramatic pauses and old English.

Costarring Max Adler (“Glee”), Nick Offerman (“Parks and Recreation”) and Christopher McDonald (“Happy Gilmore”), “Believe Me” will open in 17 theaters and On Demand on September 26.
