Watch Spike Jonze Shoot A Live Dance Film

“The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” got a shot of adrenaline last night when Spike Jonze showed up to shoot a live music video starring indie darling Mia Wasikowska and Lakeith Stanfield. Jonze shot the entire three-and-a-half-minute short film live on Fallon’s set, which makes it’s overwhelming beauty all the more impressive.

The piece is adapted from Jonze’s “Changers: A Dance Story,” a 30-minute narrative told entirely through dance and body movement. The performative piece is playing at the La MaMa Experimental Theater Club in New York beginning this Friday. The music is from Run the Jewels.

“I decided to make this 40-minute dance narrative where there’s no dialogue,”Jonze told Fallon. “All the dialogue is communicated through their dance. This is the first piece of a 30-minute film.”

You can watch Jonze talk about the project in the video interview below.
