8th South Asian International Film Festival Announces Schedule

The 8th South Asian International Film Festival has announced its schedule for 2012. Salim Ahamed’s directorial debut “Abu, Son of Adam,” India’s selection for this year’s Academy Awards, will open the festival.

The festival will premiere 19 new films from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh.

Also scheduled is a Conversation Series with Shekhar Kapur (“The Bandit Queen,” “Elizabeth” and “The Four Feathers”), who will discuss his career transformation from Bollywood actor to director.

SAIFF will run in New York from November 9 – 15. Full schedule details can be found at www.saiff.org.
