Over the past year, the biggest “will they/won’t they” dilemma  plaguing fans of “Arrested Development” hasn’t been over George Michael and Maeby’s blossoming romance, but rather if Netflix would pick up the iconic sitcom for a fifth season. Well, fans can now rest easy since Will “Gob” Arnett confirmed during his appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” the Bluth family will make another long-awaited return.

While Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos has hinted at an “Arrested Development” renewal throughout the year, saying another season of the show was “just a matter of when,” Arnett’s claims are the first real confirmation fans have that Netflix is officially moving forward with a new season. Netflix famously brought “Arrested Development” back from the dead last summer, airing a 15-episode fourth season that divided audiences and critics due to new storytelling devices that catered more towards the Netflix bingeing model than the traditional pacing of the show’s run on FOX.

With several enticing plot points left dangling at the end of season four, including a meta movie adaptation of the Bluth family and a scandalous love triangle involving Michael and George Michael, fans have been wondering if they would get to see creator Mitchell Hurwitz’s long term plans for the show play out it full. While production details are to be determined, fans can take a huge sigh of relief knowing “Arrested Development” Season 5 is no longer just an “illusion.”
