Well-received by critics following its premiere at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, “Hot Girls Wanted” is a documentary that studies the relationship dynamics between amateur porn producers and performers.
Based on the trailer, which you can watch above, the film surfaces a wide range of issues, including but not limited to misogyny, agency and mental healthcare.
“Hot Girls Wanted” is not the first time co-directors Jill Bauer and Ronna Gradus have tackled the porn industry. Back in 2012, the duo made “Sexy Baby.” Also a documentary, but broader in scope, “Sexy Baby” examines the psychological and sociological impact of porn and popular culture, through the point-of-view of three different women: a 12-year-old feminist, a 22-year-old kindergarten teacher and a 32-year-old former porn star.
“Hot Girls Wanted” is now available to stream on Netflix.
