Emmys 2016: Bob Odenkirk ‘Blown Away,’ Idris Elba ‘Floored’ By Nominations, More Official Reactions

Ryan Murphy says "The People V. OJ Simpson" has been a "career highlight" while Ellie Kemper says she "already won" with a free trip to L.A.

While Twitter has been blowing up with crazy reactions from the Emmy nominees, many of the actors and filmmakers are also sitting back and reflecting on the achievements of their show and everyone involved. In official statements following the announcement, actors including Ellie Kemper (“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt“), Idris Elba (“Luther“) and Bob Odenkirk (“Better Call Saul“), as well as behind-the-camera stars including director Susanne Bier (“The Night Manager“), director Ryan Murphy (“The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story“) and Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos all offered some warm thanks to their peers and the people they work with.

Idris Elba, “Luther”: “I am floored that I’ve been nominated but I am even more excited that “Luther” has been nominated as well. The success of “Luther” is so much due to the fans and I hope they are as proud of this nomination as we are. OH BOY! What a category!”

Bob Odenkirk, “Better Call Saul”: “Wow! I am blown away! I am surrounded by excellence on “Better Call Saul” and to be picked out of that line-up is a crazy honor. This unique show, with no genre behind it – just honest character exploration, surprises me over and over. The fact that TV fans and critics are welcoming this unpredictable journey – it’s simply inspiring. Thank you.”

Rami Malek, “Mr. Robot”: “I couldn’t be more honored to receive this nomination. To be included among of list of actors whose work I’ve admired for years is truly humbling. I’m so grateful for the brilliant Sam Esmail who brought Elliot to life and has allowed me to play a role one could only dream of. Lili Taylor, “American Crime”: “I am over the moon to hear about the nomination this morning and to be included in such a  great list of nominees this year. Susanne Bier, Producer and Director of “The Night Manager”: “I’m beyond thrilled to be nominated this year. Working on this project, directing all six episodes was a tremendous task. It’s very rare to get a chance to compose such a schizophrenic score – from hardcore electronica to full on orchestra every week. It was just such a crazy, fun creative process.”

Tom Colicchio, “Top Chef: “Thrilled to be nominated again for the 13th time! It’s been a great run and is a testament to how much the show is loved by our peers.”

Matt Senreich, “Robot Chicken”: “I’m still stunned that Seth (Green) and I get to play with toys and be honored for it. It’s an amazing world that we live in. I feel like Tom Hanks in “Big” on a daily basis!”
