Amazon has released new plot details and first look images from “The Romanoffs,” an original anthology series from nine-time Emmy-winning “Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner. Featuring eight separate stories about people who believe themselves to be descendants of the infamous Russian royal family, “The Romanoffs” is Weiner’s first return to television since “Mad Men” concluded in 2015. Created, written, directed and executive produced by Weiner, “The Romanoffs” is set in seven different countries and filmed on location in three separate continents.

Each episode features a different cast, and the roster reads like a who’s who of the last decade of prestige television. To name only a handful, the illustrious cast includes Isabelle Huppert, Diane Lane, John Slattery, Amanda Peet, Aaron Eckhart, Corey Stoll, Mary Kay Place, Ron Livingston, Andrew Rannells, Kathryn Hahn, Radha Mitchell, and Clea Duvall. The new breakdown details who will appear with whom as well as a short description of each episode.

Amazon Prime will premiere the first two episodes of “The Romanoffs” on October 12, with single episodes rolling out on the following six Fridays. In addition to the episode details, Amazon has also released four new images from the series.
