The “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” idiom gets seriously complicated in “Finders Keepers,” Bryan Carberry and Clay Tweel’s documentary about the custody fight that breaks out over a found foot.
Following a story that made headlines in 2007, the film centers on Shannon Whisnant, who discovers a foot inside a grill he bought at an auction. The rightful owner, amputee John Wood, wants the foot restored to him, but Whisnant refuses to part ways with it when the weird story “win win wins” him 15 minutes of fame.
“Finders Keepers” is currently playing in select theaters and is available on iTunes and On Demand. Watch an exclusive clip from the film above.
