Morgan Neville‘s “Keith Richards: Under the Influence,” a new documentary chronicling the journey — both sober and under said influence — of the legendary Rolling Stones guitarist, is set to premiere on Netflix.

The film will give new insight into the personal life of Richards — within and without the world of one of the most universally recognizable bands. Richards’ legacy as a groundbreaking guitarist goes far beyond technical skill; Richards’ inspirations from Chicago, Nashville and New York, to the influence from longtime friend Tom Waits, are all elements explored in the documentary. With a poignant look into the life of the iconic musician, the film promises to bring both the soulful intensity of the Stones’ legend and the story behind it.

According to director Morgan Neville, “If there’s a Mount Rushmore of Rock ’n’ Roll, Keith’s face is surely on it.”

RadicalMedia (“What Happened, Miss Simone?”) produced the documentary. It will premiere on Netflix on September 18.
