Here’s your daily dose of an indie film, web series, TV pilot, what-have-you in progress — at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a project you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

The Ghost of Peter Sellers

Logline: A comedy genius, a ‘hot’ young director and a 17th Century pirate comedy…What could possibly go wrong?

Elevator Pitch:
In 1973 Peter Sellers embarked on the production of a 17th Century pirate comedy in Cyprus. He lost confidence in the film as soon as shooting began and tried to sabotage the film, firing the producers and the DP and then set his sights on his friend, the director Peter Medak.

The production descended into chaos and what happened behind the scenes was funnier than the film itself.

Now, 42 years later, the director returns to unravel what really happened on that film and to finally come to terms with the film that he believes destroyed his career.

Production Team:
Director: Peter Medak – “The Krays” (1990), “The Changeling” (1980), “The Ruling Class” (1972)
Producer: Paul Iacovou

About the Film:
It’s an incredible story of lunacy, tragedy and insanity. How such a brilliant idea for a film with all the right ingredients can go so desperately wrong and how once it starts to unravel there’s nothing that can be done to get it back on track again.

I was driven to make this film as its so multi-layered. Yes, its an examination of Sellers but it’s also the story of a young up and coming Director that had his career destroyed by his friend (the leading actor).

Current Status: 70% through principal photography. Currently running a campaign to complete shooting in the US with an incredible line-up of interviewees.
