Tatiana Maslany Wins Emmy For Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series

Tatiana Maslany took home the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role in “Orphan Black” at the 2016 Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 18. Live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, Maslany thanked her cast and crew for her “incredible dream job.”

“I feel so lucky to be on a show that puts women at the center,” she stated during her speech.

This was her second nomination and first win for her role in “Orphan Black.”

Also nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category were Claire Danes for her role in “Homeland,” Viola Davis of “How To Get Away With Murder,” Taraji P. Henson of “Empire,” Keri Russell of “The Americans” and Robin Wright of “House of Cards.”

The Primetime Emmy Awards celebrates the best in primetime television programming as chosen by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
