‘The Daily Show’ Names Stand-Up Comedian Dulcé Sloan Newest Correspondent
“The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” will add some fresh blood to its roster of correspondents, stand-up comedian Dulcé Sloan will join “The Best F#@king News Team.” Sloan was tapped by Noah, also the show’s Executive Producer, and will make her first appearance with an in studio desk piece. A fresh and unique voice in the world of stand-up comedy, Sloan has appeared on Comedy Central‘s “@midnight with Chris Hardwicke,” TBS’ “Conan,” truTV’s “Comedy Knockout,” and made multiple appearances as a correspondent on E! News Daily.
As former correspondents like Stephen Colbert, Samantha Bee, and Jessica Williams continue to dominate late-night and rise in prominence, a correspondent slot on “The Daily Show” can be as significant to a young comedian’s career as joining the cast of “Saturday Night Live.” Noah’s “Daily Show” tenure has already helped former correspondent Jordan Klepper launch his own half hour on the network, “The Opposition with Jordan Klepper,” which premieres this month.
Sloan was recently named by Rolling Stone as one of the 10 Comedians You Need to Know and was hailed by Time Out Los Angeles as a 2017 Comedian to Watch. She has also been honored as the 2016 NBC Stand Up Showcase Winner, a Montreal Just For Laughs New Face and as a Comedian to Watch on The Steve Harvey Show. She will join senior correspondent Ronny Chieng, Roy Wood, Jr., and Desi Lydic.
