The Editing nominations are often a strong indicator of Best Picture contenders. This year’s Oscar frontrunners include period dramas “Dunkirk” and Guillermo del Toro’s sumptuous romantic fantasy “The Shape of Water,” as well as Martin McDonagh’s angry dramedy “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.”

But coming up on the outside is Edgar Wright’s action tour-de-force “Baby Driver,” which stole the BAFTA from “Dunkirk.”
