Watch: Lady Gaga Teams With Catherine Hardwicke For Devastating ‘Til It Happens to You’ Music Video
Norwegian techno duo Röyksopp’s synth-heavy electronic track “Running to the Sea” has an uncharacteristically analog music video from Lauren Rothery, shot on 16mm and 8mm.
The beautiful and melancholy video features a man in a snowy, isolated cabin in the woods whose memories come to life and become confused with reality. Shooting on 16mm and 8mm film helps Rothery capture a sense of rural nostalgia, as well as some beautiful shots of the natural landscape. The use of celluloid makes for an unexpected visual aesthetic juxtaposed against Royksopp’s digital sound.
