The 65th Berlin International Film Festival has revealed the first six films to make their competition program, among them Terrence Malick‘s new film “Knight of Cups,” starring Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Natalie Portman. This will mark Malick’s return to the festival following his win of the Golden Bear in 1999 for “The Thin Red Line.”
Other titles include Andrew Haigh‘s follow-up to “Weekend,” “45 Years,” starring Charlotte Rampling, and Peter Greenaway’s latest, “Einstein Guanajuato.” Kenneth Branagh’s live action take on “Cinderella” was also announced as an out of competition entry.
The festival runs February 5-15, 2015.
