[Editors Note: Project of the Day is presented in partnership with Blackmagic Design, one of the world’s leading innovators and manufacturers of creative video technology.]

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film, web series, TV pilot, what-have-you in progress — at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a project you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

The Day Before the Wedding

Logline: “The Day Before The Wedding” is a comedy horror about deer hunting in the Colorado Mountains gone horribly wrong…and inevitably losing your friends once you decide to get married.

Elevator Pitch:
“The Day Before The Wedding” is the first film that Geoff Marslett (“MARS,” “Loves Her Gun,” “Yakona”) is making since moving up to the Colorado mountains. It features a cast including Jennifer Prediger, Frank Mosley, Kira Pearson and Geoff. Though it’s really a giant analogy about leaving your friends behind once you get married, it is also a great midnight film filled with wonderful blood and gore by the masterminds at Monster Make-Up and FX (“Cop Car,” “Motivational Growth”). Occupying a gonzo grey area between “The Deer Hunter” and “The Hangover,” it’s director Geoff Marslett’s funniest and horror-iest film yet!

Production Team:
Writer/Director/Actor – Geoff Marslett (director of “MARS,” “Loves Her Gun,” “Monkey vs. Robot”; producer of “Yakona”; actor in “Thou Wast Mild and Lovely,” “Slacker 2011,” SXSW Bumpers)

Principal Cast:
Jennifer Prediger (“Uncle Kent,” “Uncle Kent 2,” “Apartment Troubles,” “Red Flag,” “A Teacher,” “7 Chinese Brothers,” “The Foxy Merkins”)
Frank Mosley (“Upstream Color,” “Ain’t Them Bodies Saints,” “Her Wilderness,” “Some Beasts”)
Kira Pearson (“Tears of God,” “The Greggs”)

Special FX – Joshua Adams and Midian Crosby

About the Film:
I wanted to make a film that feels very regional, very western, very Colorado! I wanted to use the people and landscape out here. I also want dot make people scream and then laugh.

I’m getting to the age when folks aren’t always up for the same adventures they used to be. They’re married and have kids and understandably focused on other things.

What starts out as an indie drama ends in a gore fest just to prove the point.

And it’s romantic.

Current Status: Fundraising for production.
