Solution Entertainment Group Hires Focus Features Executive Josie Lang

The Solution Entertainment Group has hired Focus Features executive Josie Liang to the position of VP of Acquisitions and Development with immediate effect, the company’s co-foudners Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel announced earlier today. Reporting directly to Wilson and Nestel, Liang will focus on the development of commercial feature films to produce and finance in-house, along with the acquisition of third party titles for international sales under The Solution banner.

“Josie is admired and well-respected in the industry with a keen understanding of projects that have wide, commercial appeal for a theatrical audience,” said Wilson and Nestel. “Her studio experience and established ties to cast and filmmakers make her a perfect addition to our expanding team.”

While at Focus Features, Lang worked on such titles as Leigh Whannell’s “Insidious: Chapter 3” and Ciaran Foy’s “Sinister 2.” Both titles were released under Focus’ genre label, Gramercy Pictures, and co-produced by Blumhouse Productions. Prior to her work at the company, Liang was the Manager of Acquisitions at FilmDistrict and worked at GK Films and Sony Pictures Entertainment. She received her BA in Communications from UCLA.
