Sufjan Stevens brought his Oscar-nominated song “Mystery of Love” to the Academy Awards stage. The singer performed his original song from “Call Me By Your Name” live for the first time during the Oscars telecast and was joined by musicians St. Vincent, Moses Sumney, Chris Thile, Casey Foubert, and James McAlister.
The Best Original Song nomination for “Mystery of Love” is one of four Oscar nominations “Call Me By Your Name” received this year.
Stevens will be releasing his three original songs from the film on 10-inch translucent vinyl on April 21 to celebrate Record Store Day. The record’s A-side will have “Mystery of Love,” while its B-side will include “Visions of Gideon” and “Futile Devices” (Doveman Remix).
