Robin Williams, who recently dipped his toe back in the world of TV with appearances on “Wilfred” (as a “Good Will Hunting”-style therapist) and “Louie” (as the only other mourner at the funeral of a man they both disliked), is looking to make a more permanent return to the small screen.

According to TV Guide, the comic actor is in talks to develop a sitcom about a brilliant but aging ad exec called “The Crazy Ones” with writer and executive producer David E. Kelley (creator of “Chicago Hope,” “The Practice,” “Ally McBeal” and others). The show would be a half-hour, single-camera comedy that would look at how Williams character and his daughter, with whom he works, start to question the lives their living — if only we were doing this in the 1960s, they’ll probably wail, we’d get to wear amazing period clothing and be intensely critically acclaimed! CBS is reportedly pursuing the project.

Williams just wrapped “The Butler,” the new film from “Precious” director Lee Daniels in which he plays Dwight Eisenhower. Kelley’s last series was the legal dramedy “Harry’s Law,” which got top ratings in all the wrong demographics and was not renewed for a third season by NBC.

Here’s the opening sequence for “Mork & Mindy,” the series that first made Williams a star. Shazbot!
