All eyes in the indie world are set on Todd Haynes‘ “Carol” this weekend, and for good reason. The director’s Cannes-winning romance drama is an intoxicating study of relationships and chemistry, starring Rooney Mara and Cate Blanchett as two women in 1950’s New York City who form a blossoming connection.
To celebrate the film’s upcoming release, designer Midnight Marauder has created four alternative posters for the film as part of The Film Stage’s Alternate Art series. Each poster evokes Haynes’ controlled direction, which often uses strategic blocking through doors and windows. Check out two of our favorites below, and see the entire collection over on the The Film Stage.
“Carol” opens in select theaters tomorrow, November 20.
