Tribeca: Bombay Sapphire Gin and Tribeca Film Festival Premiere Five Shorts From Imagination Series 2014

Last night, The Tribeca Film Festival premiered the Bombay Sapphire Imagination Series 2014, a showcase of short films from around the globe, created by young filmmakers looking to make a name for themselves. A co-partnership between Tribeca and Bombay, the project gives young filmmakers the opportunity to take a script without a premise or setting, and create their own story around the words.

Five separate films were created for the series, all based on the same short script by Academy Award winner Geoffrey Fletcher (“Precious”). For the second year in a row, Fletcher’s script – without direction or description – has spawned films that are all very different, and underline the power of imagination. Out of over 1,300 entries from almost 70 countries, the list was whittled down to the five films that premiered at Tribeca.
