Aaron Eckhart has done battle with his fair share of formidable foes over the years, from the Joker to North Korean terrorists to the molten-hot core of our very planet. He’ll next go face to face with demonic entities in “Incarnate,” an upcoming horror film from Blumhouse. Watch its trailer below.

Eckhart plays an exorcist in the film, though his methods differ from most others’: He enters the subconscious minds of those who’ve been possessed. In this case that’s a little boy who’s been taken over by a force more powerful than any Eckhart’s character has ever encountered, as there’s little point in making a movie about an easily defeated demon.

Carice Van Houten of “Game of Thrones,” Catalina Moreno and former WWE World Heavyweight Champion (and actual strongest man in the world) Mark Henry co-star in “Incarnate,” which Brad Peyton directed. Blumhouse will release the film on December 2.
