Sterling K. Brown has won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama thanks to his turn as Randall Pearson in the breakout NBC drama “This is Us.” Brown won over his co-star Milo Ventimiglia, as well as Bob Odenkirk, Anthony Hopkins, Kevin Spacey, Liev Schreiber, and Matthew Rhys. Rami Malek won the award last year for “Mr. Robot,” but was not nominated this year.

“This is Us” earned 11 nominations for its debut series, becoming the rare broadcast television drama to make a huge impact on the Emmys. Brown’s win marks the second year in a row as a winner; his role as Christopher Darden in FX’s “American Crime Story: The People vs O.J. Simpson” won him the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie.
“This is Us” returns to NBC for its second season on Tuesday, September 26. Brown can be see on the big screen in “Marshall” this October, and he recently wrapped production on Shane Black’s “Predator” reboot.
