“Crazy Rich Asians” star Henry Golding‘s ascent to Hollywood’s newest rom-com king continues apace. Hot after his on-screen debut in Jon M. Chu’s box office smash and on the tails of his supporting role in Paul Feig‘s “A Simple Favor,” the newly in-demand actor has signed on for a seemingly perfect new gig: a “holiday romance set in London.” Variety reports that Golding will star alongside “Game of Thrones” star Emilia Clarke in the film, set to be directed by Feig, currently titled “Last Christmas.”

No word yet on if the film will pull directly from the lyrics of the Wham! song of the same name — “Last Christmas, I gave you my heart / But the very next day you gave it away / This year, to save me from tears / I’ll give it to someone special,” etc. — but the outlet does report that the film’s screenplay will be written by Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings.

Thompson is, of course, one of Hollywood’s great actresses, but she’s also penned her fair share of beloved screenplays, including “Sense and Sensibility” (which earned her a writing Oscar), both “Nanny McPhee” films, and the final “Bridget Jones” film, “Bridget Jones’s Baby” (which Feig was originally set to direct). The film will be Kimmings’ first on-screen credit.

Feig will produce the film for his Feigco Entertainment shingle alongside Jessie Henderson. BAFTA winner David Livingstone and Thompson will also produce, and executive vice president of production Erik Baiers will oversee the project for Universal.
