Attention Filmmakers: Here’s How to Get a Professional Film Score
CreativeLive, an “online global classroom for creative entrepreneurs” has a new class on film composing, hosted by Will and Brooke Blair, whose credits include the scores for “Blue Ruin” and the upcoming Cannes selection “Green Door.” The classroom-style panel will focus on helping filmmakers and composers find the right tone for each project, working on a budget and collaborating.
Most exciting of all, participating students can submit their projects to be scored by the Blair brothers, whose credits include “Blue Ruin” and the upcoming Cannes selection “Green Room.” They will be selecting two short films (2-4 min) to score, one in advance to be presented during the class and the other they will score live on air.
The class, called “Modern Film Composing,” will air on May 20, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. PST at www.creativelive.com. For rules, regulations and submissions information, go here. The deadline for submissions May 14, and the version you submit must not be scored.
