Project of the Day: 'Rickshaw Wars'

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film in progress — at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

Rickshaw Wars

Tweetable Logline: Parisian pedicab drivers on a quest to fight Capitalism, America & each other.

Elevator Pitch: “Rickshaw Wars” is the documentary feature on the Parisian pedicab community, and their war against capitalism, Americanization of Europe, gypsies and each other. Our film features an eccentric, and often controversial, cannon of characters on their journey to achieve economic salvation and ideological freedom. With political tensions in Europe at an all time high, the purpose of this documentary is to examine the real life outcomes of austerity measures in France. We showcase the lives of each driver and let them tell their story in their own words.

Production Team:
Brennan Stultz – Director
Ellington Tynes – Director of Photography

About the film: I have been passionate about this project, some may say clinically obsessed, since I was a pedicab driver in Paris. I came to France for what was supposed to be a weekend, which turned into two glorious years. I was inspired by the drivers, everyone seemed to come from insanely interesting backgrounds, yet somehow they fell into this position, which is often deemed lowly by society. Returning stateside, I became reacquainted with a fellow pedicab associate, Ellington Tynes. He landed in LA after living in Paris like myself. Drinking some red wine, passions united and work began on “Rickshaw Wars.”

Current Status: We are currently fundraising to make this documentary.
