When “Black Mirror” creator Charlie Brooker and executive producer Annabel Jones spoke with IndieWire about the show’s upcoming move to Netflix, both felt inhibited by a platform they felt would only expand the boundaries they could push the show. “It’s so different to a network…you don’t have restrictions in terms of censorship, or duration, or ad breaks,” said Brooker. The result: “you sort of can just feel the story more,” added Jones. No wonder the new stories look so damn good, as evidenced by the new Season 3 trailer, exclusively premiered by Entertainment Weekly.

Season 3 promises to be the most star-studded edition yet, with six new episodes populated by the likes of Bryce Dallas Howard, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Mackenzie Davis, Jerome Flynn, Kelly McDonald and more. One episode was co-written by Rashida Jones, while directors stepping behind the camera include “Atonement” Oscar nominee Joe Wright and “10 Cloverfield Lane” breakout Dan Trachtenberg. This year’s episodes deal with topics ranging from a thriller about an online trap to a social satire where all human interactions are ranked.

“Black Mirror” Season 3 premieres on Netflix on October 21. Watch the official trailer below.
