The BFI London Film Festival has announced that the concert film “Björk: Biophilia Live,” will screen at this year’s Sonic gala.
Directed by Peter Strickland, “Björk: Biophilia Live” was filmed during Björk’s multimedia performance at London’s Alexandra Palace late last year.
As the Sonic Gala film, “Björk: Biophilia Live” is the leading film for the festival’s unique Sonic program — a roster that specifically features music-inspired films.
In a statement issued today, Clare Stewart, Director of the BFI London Film Festival, called Björk “a true innovator, collaborating with exceptional filmmakers and artists to produce intoxicating work at the intersection of music and film.”
The BFI London Film Festival will take place from October 8-19. The complete festival program, which will include the full Sonic slate, is set to be revealed on September 3.
