Watch: Learn About the Creepy True Life Story Behind ‘Deliver Us From Evil’
Screen Gems has released a 15-minute behind the scenes look at “Deliver Us From Evil” featuring an up close and personal conversation with real life demonologist Ralph Sarchie. Based on the book “Beware the Night” by former NYPD officer Ralph Sarchie, the film follows the experiences of the man who left the force after 16 years to assist priests in exorcisms. The film follows Sarchie (Eric Bana) during his tenure as a police officer and the grisly details of his moonlighting as a demonologist all while trying to maintain order as a family man.
This featurette documents interviews with some of the real people involved, including Sarchie, and their recounting of the actual, mysterious events in his memoir. This includes his daughter, who says she remembers always being scared about what was going on in her house, but never really understood until a picture came abruptly flying off the wall.
The film also stars Olivia Munn, Edgar Martinez, Sean Harris and Joel McHale, and was directed by Scott Derickson and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Screen Gems opens it on July 2nd. Check out the 15-minute video below:
