ScreenCraft is accepting rolling short film screenplay submissions in all genres for consideration, guaranteeing production on at least one project per quarter and up to ten projects per year. Grants will range from $10,000 to $20,000 based on the scale and merit of each selected short film production.

This short film production grant program comes on the heels of ScreenCraft’s inaugural short screenplay competition, which featured judges from Vimeo, the Cannes Film Festival and Maker Studios. “In administering the short screenplay competition it became exceedingly clear to us that there is an underserved international community of writers and filmmakers with exceptional short film projects in need of funding and support,” said ScreenCraft co-founder Cameron Cubbison, in a statement.
ScreenCraft and Bondit will collaborate to select worthy short screenplays on the basis of originality, story, characterization and visual inventiveness. The program will also provide consulting packages worth over $7,000 to the selected projects, giving guidance for production, crowdfunding, festival strategy and distribution opportunities, as well as assisting in bringing together creative teams and in-kind resources.

The program also includes career development from the ScreenCraft team and strategic production and distribution guidance and resources from Bondit and Buffalo 8 Productions.

The companies are especially looking for short projects that have potential for feature film and/or series adaptation.

“Access to reliable financing for short form content is a continuing challenge for many deserving filmmakers and we’re excited to offer this opportunity,” said Bondit’s co-founder Matthew Helderman.
