Shailene Woodley Sheds Her Teenage Image 'White Bird Blizzard' Poster

With roles in films such as “The Descendants” “The Spectacular Now” and the “Fault in Our Stars,” actress Shailene Woodley has maintained a rather teen-friendly image. Nevertheless, in Gregg Araki‘s latest drama, the spooky ’80s coming of age mystery “White Bird in a Blizzard,” we get to see Woodley show a different, darker side.

Araki, known for films such as “Mysterious Skin” and most recently “Kaboom,” directs this drama about a small town teenager girl whose oddball mother (Eva Green) goes missing. The poster, which shows a snow-covered Woodley staring off into the distance, epitomizes the loss of innocence theme that permeates throughout the film. “White Bird” also stars Christopher Meloni, Shiloh Fernandez, Angela Bassett and Gabourey Sidibe.

“White Bird in a Blizzard” played at Sundance earlier this year and will be released to On Demand on September 25 and to theaters on October 24.
